These Terms & Conditions apply to purchases and services provided by Laptop Mechanic, trading online as LaptopFan.co.za. By placing an order, requesting a quote, or using our services, you agree to these terms.

1. Pricing and Quotations

  • All prices are subject to change without prior notice.
  • Quotes remain valid for 7 days, unless stated otherwise.
  • Quoted prices are subject to stock availability and supplier pricing.
  • Product images are for illustrative purposes and may differ slightly from the actual item supplied.
  • In the event of a pricing or listing error, we reserve the right to correct the error and, where necessary, cancel or amend the order after notifying the customer.

2. Orders

  • Orders may be placed online, by email, WhatsApp, or other written communication channels accepted by Laptop Mechanic.
  • Customers are responsible for providing the correct laptop model, part number, and delivery details.
  • We may contact you to confirm compatibility, stock availability, or delivery details before processing an order.
  • An order is only confirmed once payment has been received and/or written confirmation has been issued by us.

3. Payment

  • Payment must be made in full before dispatch, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • Orders may be delayed until payment reflects and has been confirmed.
  • Goods remain the property of Laptop Mechanic until paid for in full.

4. Shipping and Delivery

  • We deliver nationwide across South Africa using trusted courier partners.
  • Delivery times are estimates and may vary depending on location, stock availability, courier operations, and public holidays.
  • Orders confirmed before 3:00 PM may be dispatched the same day where stock is available.
  • Tracking details will be provided once an order has been dispatched.
  • Please inspect the parcel on arrival and notify us within 48 hours if an item is damaged, incorrect, or incomplete.

5. Returns and Refunds

Returns and refunds are handled in accordance with our Returns & Refund Policy. In summary:

  • Returns may be accepted for incorrect, damaged, or faulty items, subject to inspection.
  • Returned goods must be unused, in original packaging, and in resalable condition where applicable.
  • A handling or restocking fee of up to 15% may apply to certain non-faulty returns.
  • Original shipping charges are non-refundable unless required by law or where the item supplied was incorrect or faulty.

6. Warranty

Products supplied by Laptop Mechanic carry limited warranty coverage against manufacturing defects, subject to the product category and nature of the item.

  • Warranty periods are calculated from the invoice date.
  • Warranty does not cover incorrect installation, misuse, physical damage, liquid damage, tampering, or normal wear and tear.
  • Where a valid warranty claim is approved, we may repair, replace, or refund the item, depending on the circumstances and stock availability.
  • Specific warranty periods for certain products may be stated on the product page, invoice, or quotation.

7. Compatibility and Technical Guidance

  • We assist customers with part matching and compatibility checks based on the information provided.
  • Customers should verify the laptop model and part number before purchase.
  • If you are unsure, please contact us before ordering so we can help confirm compatibility.

8. Product Availability

  • All products are subject to stock availability.
  • If a product becomes unavailable after ordering, we will notify you and offer an alternative, revised lead time, or refund where applicable.

9. Repairs and Service Work

Where Laptop Mechanic provides repair or diagnostic services, the following additional terms apply:

  • Repair work is limited to the service described and accepted by the customer.
  • Any diagnostic, assessment, or decline fee will be communicated before work proceeds.
  • Repair turnaround times are estimates and may vary depending on fault diagnosis, parts availability, and workload.
  • Customers are responsible for backing up their data before submitting a device for service.
  • While we take reasonable care, Laptop Mechanic is not responsible for data loss, software issues, or pre-existing faults not related to the requested repair.
  • Devices must be collected promptly once the customer has been notified that work is complete.

10. Customer Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate order, compatibility, and contact information.
  • Inspect goods promptly after delivery or collection.
  • Follow any installation or handling guidance supplied with the item.
  • Contact us promptly if there is an issue with your order.

11. Limitation of Liability

Laptop Mechanic will not be liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of income, profit, or business interruption, except where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights the customer may have under applicable consumer protection laws in South Africa.

12. Import or Special-Order Parts

  • Special-order or imported parts may require longer lead times and full payment in advance.
  • Estimated lead times for imported items are not guaranteed and may be affected by supplier, shipping, or customs delays.
  • Where a part is sourced specifically at the customer’s request, return eligibility may be limited unless the part is faulty, incorrect, or not as agreed.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The latest version published on our website will apply to new orders and services.
